WEEK 6 - YOU'LL BE MISSED!

Image
Hey its the final week. There's a lot of thing I wanna say, but I'll keep it short. Since this may be our last meeting with our foster sisters and brothers, my group decided to have a small feast to treat the kids and also as a gratitude for all students. Other groups also wanted to held a feast so we did together at Block B foyer.       My group brought 22 boxes of pizzas and for drinks we made orange juice by ourselves. The kids waited patiently for the pizza to arrive. Around 6.30 we began eating. I was relieved they enjoyed the food. After Maghrib prayer we continue with certificate presentation ceremony at The Cubes of FSKTM. The ceremony were started with Dr Nazean's speech, then a volunteer from the kid and lastly from the UM student.       I would like to thank my lecturer, Dr Nazean Binti Jomhari who helps us a lot throughout this project and all my group members that give great teamwork and cooperation. And to my lovely s...

WEEK 5 - MORE PRACTICE

Image
Hi it's already the 5th week. This week session was held in The Cubes of FSKTM. The weather was nice so the kids had no difficulty to come to the class and we are all in a good mood. My sister, Aliya came right on time at 6 o'clock. She seems quite excited today, well its been 5 week since we know each other so she has been comfortable with me.       This we just did more exercises and Aliya chose to do Science and Bahasa Melayu. She sat next to her school friend, Izzun. You can imagine how competitive they are during the session. They will check their ranking per exercise. Hahaha!. Like in Malay idiom, "kecil -kecil cili api". I was amused sometimes with these kids actions.       So far Aliya did well, but she keeps doing Bahasa Melayu exercise to increase her ranking as she's good in that subject. Well that's a good action so I advised her to focus more on subjects that she's weak in like Mathematics and English . This i...

WEEK 4 - Mind Map

Image
It’s been week 4 already. Time flies really fast and I felt like it was yesterday I met Aliya😢. This week session was held in Makmal Stroutop. As usual, my sister who is a diligent student, can make it to the class.       This week was quite relax, we did some exercises on Bahasa Melayu subject. From my observation Aliya can answer all the questions very well and she may be a little weak in verbs. Well that's can be improved if she did lots of practice, InshaAllah.         Then came the fun part where we did a mind map together!  We create a mind map on proverb. The mind map is based on the exercise she did earlier. By this way, the questions that she answered wrong, she will remember so that she won't make the same mistake. The best thing about this mind map is that it has different colors. Aliya may choose which color she likes, and the easiest part is they have already provided the template for the mind ma...

WEEK 3 - iLearnAce

Image
Hi,         Last week at 6 o'clock we started with the briefing on i-LEARN Ace registration by Dr Nazean. We were all excited as this is the main of this social engagement project. The subscription is for 6 months(180 days) means that they can use it until UPSR examination. Aliya and I explored the  features in the iLearnAce website such as Sticky notes. This sticky note is very easy to use and are colorful so that it is more interesting. The best thing is students can insert videos from YouTube in the sticky note too!😱      Then, we discovered the mind maps. This mind map are so cool and easy to use. They have already provided the structure so Aliya just need to choose which type of mind maps she wants to use and just fill in the inputs. Those mind maps that has created can also be shared with others. Well sharing is caring!💛 Besides, we can give benefits to others.                 Then, we discov...

WEEK 2 - Search It Right!

Image
This week we combined with other groups for a talk session at The Cubes. Well its means there were more kids therefore they were very excited having a chance to sit with their friends so it was a bit chaotic. Fortunately my friend, Fatin who as the speaker on that day together with other foster sisters managed to handle the situation very well. There were 3 absentees in my group and I was relieved that Aliya could make it to the class even though that evening it was raining cats and dogs☔☔☔.         This week we taught them on some searching techniques on Google. In my opinion, these techniques are crucial and make our life easier. First we showed them some videos  on how to use some of Google features. My group members, Ali and Amira then re-explained to give them a better understanding. I should praise Aliya on how she give her attention in class and her effort to write some notes so that she won't forget the knowledge she get...

Well this is the chance for me to have a foster sister. Hooray!😆         Last 13th March was our first meeting. My group altogether has 10 members including myself, means that there are 10 children we have to take care. Luckily the kids were nice and well-behaved, so things were under control. My foster sister's name is Nurul Aliya Bt Samad. She's studying at SK Satu Sultan Alam Shah. She's is 12 years old which means that she's taking UPSR this year! She's the youngest in her siblings with 2 brothers.       I see Aliya as a brave girl and has lots of potential. She can adapt with the environment very well. Her hobby...
